What changes do you think are needed to help keep the player economy going during slow times?

Omalley is right. During slow times nothing will keep the economy going. Players that are going to stick around will adapt to get what’s needed. Putting vendors to sell stuff wont really do it. I dont like doing BoDs, but if i need PoF or blessed deeds and no one is selling then i guess ill do BoDs

I wrote a post about PoF and then didn't feel good posting it. I mostly have to agree here, tho I am sure there are other things that could be done. I think the biggest issue is I didn't want to do PoF and if I could vendor it I probably would have never gotten the balls to do it myself.

Also, while a player run economy balances itself out, I personally think you need a degree in economics to pull it off with NPC vendors without doing more damage than you are causing.

Will brainstorm more about this and report back if I come up with anything.

Im not opposed to another way to get items normally made by crafters.. but to just buy it with gold from an NPC breaks supply and demand. Just make it a drop somewhere.. you can limit the amount, restore something thats missing, and not break supply and demand..

Or make it a drop from champ spawn bosses.. another reason to get people in fel, creating more PvP action.. for those who enjoy that..

On a different note.. A good way to stimulate the economy is to have players, playing.. I have always been a fan of small, weekend events.. when i staff on a server, the 1st thing i do is create 4-8 mini weekend style events, custom areas that i build on the black areas of the map or in unused areas.. there are alot of them already built on the map, with NOTHING on them.. then you just rotate through these events every weekend.. this draws players in.. make custom drops.. not just "recreations" of things already in game. You have that invasion system, put that sucker to work on the weekends.. I wouldnt do all of them "Invasion" style.. but 1/2 of them could be. This can all be done without having to make the player download customs.. easily.

When it comes to events, In my experience.. I have noticed more interest from the players when they are able to collect a currency.. this rewards the players for every kill, which in turn keeps them killing shit, which keeps them playing.. seriously its like rewarding the rat for pushing the correct button. each and every kill brings the player closer to obtaining the item they desire.. Events should be a reward for the players, who play on your shard.. it shouldnt feel like a job, it should have something for everyone (PvP, PVE, Crafting Play Styles) and (in my experience) a currency is the best way to reward everyone for participation, the harder the objective, the more currency.

IMO, what this server needs is an event coordinator/community manager, someone who's sole purpose on the server is to create things to do.. to draw players in, engage players on social media & most importantly.. someone to take the event workload off Dan & Dex so they can focus on bugs and administrative responsibilities.. if you dont trust people to have that kind of access to your server, create a copy of Heritage, and create these events there so you can manage them.. and then update the main server with the new content when its approved.

So just some ideas but I think having a monthly server ran auction and door prize giveaway is a great way to get people excited and active the door prize is to give even new and broke players a chance at a good item...you can auction off even things like a special hue item or something that is not broken but rare I'll post more as I get time

[where is in the journal, this is where i have ran auctions in the past on other servers. Needs a little deco and some seating, but the whole building is like a mall..

So this is me speaking but I think there needs to be a real look into old arties the meta gear and drop intensity. We should really start the project of buffing some older arties that are useless and trying to make hunting for items more useful again I have been here a short time but there is a list of items that are must have items which in turn makes anything else useless once you get them items that is a bottle neck in the economy and the need to play other areas of the world to farm gear...I got alot of ideas but again these are things that keep people playing and interested imo

Baracoon spawn will be available to new players for the next 2 weeks without being raided by OC guild.
This pertains to all new members of the Heritage shard only. New = less than 3 months old. Older players wishing to help new players can do so, however, all gold and scrolls go to new players on the shard.
Do not cheat the new players. This is a time where we can help new players get access to better powerscrolls, and allow them to make some gold and allow then to purchase better items on the server, such as suits, and other items to get them established here.
If you need help or protection to get 12 rather than 6 scrolls, please ask in discord chat so that we can assist you in any way possible. If you need guidance on what works best at the spawn feel free to ask as well.
This is for Baracoon only! Anyone caught outside the peramiters set forth will be dealt with accordingly. By Piglet! Older players to Heritage should take this time to stock suits, and items to help these new players get established.
Each spawn drops 250k and there will be a lot of gold to throw out there from these new players if they use this opportunity to their advantage.
If you need a vendor in Luna or elsewhere to sell items, ask in #heritage_trade chat and someone will gladly get you set up. Enjoy!
