Referencing our discord conversation, no matter your intentions, removing resources from NPC vendors did add a substantial grind to the game. If player A wants to imbue a suit they can no longer go to a jeweler and buy the gems necessary to imbue. Somebody has to go grind for those gems now. Whether player A accepts that burden or they wait for player B to do it and put them on a vendor, you've added another hoop for someone to jump through before they can imbue a suit. It's forcing more player engagement by adding another grind. Time required to imbue a suit went up substantially.

My point is that changes like that "make sense" in a sub based game or a game with bonus resource multipliers in a cash shop. In that case it's benefiting the owner at the expense of players time/money. On our shard it's not benefiting anyone. The players are forced to jump through extra hoops but nobody benefits.

By no means was I accusing you of trying to make money from the changes. I was just pointing out that some of the changes you've made are popular in sub based games that seek to constantly maximize player engagement time.

I've never even come sort of close to running out gems though... just make sure you're always autolooting them and run an organizer to your imbuing supplies and before you know it you'll have thousands of each.

Also, farm dragons, or dragon type creatures, they drop like 6-7 gems a pop.

Not a fan of money equating to everything however there are some nice gold sink practices that can be done.

There are no plans to add gems back to NPCs.

In regards to leather/ingots, if they were added back at a higher markup what would that price point be?

A price point where your "well off" character may not care about spending more gold on the spot but also one that any other player would most likely gather themselves or seek out others to purchase?

Also may I suggest players utilize the trade forums here more? Post a running list of stuff you almost always buy, add your price, and every so often drop a link to it on Discord.

New players may find "employment" while also skilling up/hunting.

I am new but I was looking at working cartography but it takes a ton of blank scrolls and I no longer have time nor patience to work it up. I think it doubles every 20 or 30 minutes but to get the 5k plus just seems too daunting. My next thought was to make them but they take wood pulp and not sure if there is enough people lumberjacking and selling the wood pulp. I know they didn't add up quick. I would love to see the amount bumped. Certain things like scrolls don't have so many uses that they can easily be exploited for profit.
